Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a sole source contract to Mountain Optech Inc., Longmont, CO for Fiscal Year (FY) 26 Embedded Acoustic Data Recorders (EADRs) and Data Access Storage Devices (DASDs) repairs on the P-3C. This procurement is for an anticipated quantity of eight (8) EADR repairs and two (2) DASD repairs. These requirements will be procured in accordance with Title 41 U.S.C 1901 implemented by FAR 13. Specifically, FAR 13.101(b), "only one source is reasonably available”. Mountain Optech Inc. is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the EADR and DASD, and therefore is the only contractor with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data that can meet the Government requirements on a timely basis. The Government intends to request for a written quotation from the Contractor and anticipates a contract award in Quarter 3 of FY 26. Per FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), "All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency." This synopsis is for informational purposes only.
