Description
The 48th Civil Engineer Squadron at RAF Lakenheath and RAF Feltwell require Potential Explosive Sites (PES) Inspections to ensure compliance with Ministry of Defence (MoD) Explosive Regulations and that PES facilities are fit for purpose. These inspections are necessary to maintain mission-critical facility licenses and adhere to mandatory publications/regulations, including Defence Safety Authority (DSA) 03 - Ordnance Munitions Explosives (OME) Part 2 and Explosives Storage and Transport Committee (ESTC) Standard 6. The aim is to provide a statement of fact about the condition of the building, identify and record any defects or emerging maintenance requirements, and assess the real condition of the structure to determine if it is safe to use and fit for its intended purpose as a licensed explosives facility. These services include support for munition storage, hardened aircraft shelters, armories, storage areas, and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) range.
