Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a contract modification to increase the number of Hammerhead production units available under Contract No. N00024-21-C-6425. NAVSEA intends to issue the contract modification to General Dynamics Missions Systems, Inc. (GDMS). The modification will be issued using other than full and open competition pursuant to 10 U.S.C § 3204(a)(1) and as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.103-1.
The Hammerhead is a moored-torpedo variant mine system that has the capability to detect, classify, and defeat Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) targets. The Government has a need for additional Hammerhead units to meet the Fleet’s operational requirements in FY27. GDMS is determined to be the only available source capable of fulfilling these requirements within the time required without undue delay.
