The requirement is for OEM support reagents for VITROS 3600 systems used by the Division of Viral Hepatitis Laboratory Branch at CDC, and the action is valued below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. Although it is explicitly “not a request for competitive quotations,” CDC will consider capability statements from responsible sources who can demonstrate they can provide the required OEM reagents. What the buyer is trying to do

Quickly procure proprietary OEM reagents (and associated diagnostics support) that meet manufacturer specifications for the proprietary VITROS 3600 laboratory system used by CDC’s Division of Viral Hepatitis Laboratory Branch, using simplified acquisition procedures and a sole-source justification unless a credible alternate source demonstrates equivalent OEM capability.

Work breakdown
  • Provide OEM support reagents compatible with VITROS 3600 systems (supplies).
  • Ensure reagents/diagnostics support aligns with manufacturer specifications for the proprietary VITROS 3600 model equipment system.
  • Submit a capability statement (if not QuidelOrtho) demonstrating ability to provide the required OEM reagents and support, referencing RFQ 75D30126Q78789, by the stated deadline.
  • If QuidelOrtho/OEM: provide firm-fixed-price quote/response consistent with SAP commercial-item RFQ process and CDC email submission instructions.

  • Capability statement (for non-OEM challengers) specifically demonstrating ability to provide the required OEM support reagents for VITROS 3600 and meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Evidence of OEM status or authorized access to QuidelOrtho proprietary reagents/diagnostics support (e.g., manufacturer letter/authorization), if asserting capability as an alternate source.
  • Commercial-item RFQ response/quote elements as applicable to a firm-fixed-price supplies purchase order (aligned to the combined synopsis/solicitation and incorporated FAR provisions/clauses through FAC 2021-07).
