Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products and commercial services is provided to advise that the Government intends to solicit a firm-fixed price purchase order sole source award, for SmartSense by Digi Wireless Internet of Things (IoT) Temperature and Humidity Sensors to Digi International, Inc, 9350 Excelsior Blvd, Ste 700, Hopkins, MN 55343.  This acquisition is for the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System at 3801 Miranda Avenue Palo Alto, CA 94304-1207.  The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 12.201, only one source will meet the Government’s needs. It is the Government’s belief that the proposed vendor is the only provider that can meet the agency’s needs. This notice satisfies the requirement at FAR 5.201, requiring publication of the proposed contract action.

This notice is not a request for competitive quotes.  However, any business that believes it can provide Temperature and Humidity Sensors compatable withthe current installed system may submit a capabilities statement and quotation which shall be considered by the agency, by providing written notice to derek.brown7@va.gov.  Telephone requests will not be accepted.  Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. Responses will be considered by the Government; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposes acquisition based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. 

The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334513, Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing for Measuring, Displaying, and Controlling Industrial Process Variables, 750 Employees SBA size standard and the Product Service Code (PSC) is 6685 – Pressure, Temperature, and Humidity Measuring and Controlling Instruments.

Your response should include a statement of capability, SAM UEI, business size, federal supply schedule (if applicable) and socio-economic status.  This synopsis does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service.  The government will not pay for any costs incurred by responses to this notice.
