Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested, and a separate written solicitation will not be issued.
Solicitation number 1232SA26Q0206 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a chilled water pump repair for USDA ARS NCAH Ames, IA.
This acquisition is set-aside for small business concerns. This solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses by reference. The full text of provisions and clauses may be accessed electronically at www.acquisition.gov.
The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 238220 Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors. The small business size standard is $19M This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. The magnitude of construction is between $200,000 and $300,000.
Department of Labor Wage Determination IA20250074 dated 1/2/2026 is attached and applicable to this requirement.
After award, in accordance with Contract Clause 52.228-15, and FAR 28.102, Contractors are reminded that any amount awarded over $35,000.00 shall require a Payment Bond (SF 25A), and awards exceeding $150,000.00 shall require both Payment and Performance Bonds (SF 25). Payment and Performance bonds are due no later than 10 days after notification of award.
Two organized site visits have been scheduled for March 10, 2026 at 9:00am and March 11, 2026 at 1:00pm Central Time. Contractors wishing to attend one of the site visits must RSVP by emailing Michael.Kuennen@usda.gov and Michael.Sherlock@usda.gov by March 6, 2026 at 1:00pm Central Time with the names of attendees, day they are attending and the company they are with and company(s) they are representing if a subcontractor. Please bring a Government issued ID, no weapons or pets are allowed. Park in Visitor Parking lot and walk down sidewalk and about 1/2 a block East to the main entry of Building 20 at the Security Desk . You will then be escorted to the Basement Mechanical Room to look at the chilled water pumps. Please see Appendix 1 for map.

Late quotes after this deadline may be considered only if it is in the government’s best interest and if it will not unduly delay award.
