Description
The Government intends to release a firm fixed price request for proposal on or before 5 March 2026 sole source to Lockheed Martin Corporation for the manufacture of the C-130 Radome. The quantity is 42. The 3333921-1 nose radome, used on C-130H and C-130J model aircraft, has a projected life through 2034. Supply chain management system forecast databases show flying hours and forecasts out to 2034. This radome assembly encloses the radar, the glide-slope, and the microwave landing system. A critical radar window area must be maintained in the radome to meet transmission efficiency and degradation requirements for the enclosed systems
Impediment to Competition:
Lockheed Martin (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and General Dynamics are the only sources who have produced the Radome for the Government in the past. Currently, General Dynamics produces the Radome as a subcontractor for Lockheed Martin.
