Definitization of Equitable Adjustments for Change Orders
The 17th Contracting Squadron anticipates an upcoming solicitation that will result in award to a Small Business concern. In accordance with RFO Part 5.101(c)(4)(v) and RFO Part 36.101-4(a), the Government expects change orders to be definitized in an expeditious manner. In the event that a change order cannot be definitized before the work is completed, the Government may issue an undefinitized change order. For any such undefinitized actions, the Government and the contractor will negotiate a final price and terms as soon as practicable, with a target of within 60 days from the date the undefinitized action is issued. The allowable costs will be determined in accordance with RFO Part 31. In accordance with RFO Par 36.101-4(b),for the prior three fiscal years, the 17th Contracting Squadron has not had any construction contract change orders that required the subsequent definitization of an equitable adjustment. Therefore, there is no historical data to report in the format prescribed by the FAR.
