Description

THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NON-COMPETITIVE (NOTICE OF INTENT) SYNOPSIS TO AWARD A CONTRACT WITHOUT PROVIDING FOR FULL OR OPEN COMPETITION (INCLUDING BRAND-NAME).

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order without providing for full and open competition to Neu-Ion, Inc. The purpose of this acquisition is to furnish and install a replacement pretreatment system for the Building 49 reverse osmosis (RO) water system, including a twin parallel multimedia filter system, twin carbon filter system, and twin alternating softener system. The Building 49 RO water system serves the Central Animal Facility (CAF) and multi-IC laboratories, and the pretreatment system is required to remove contaminants, reduce fouling and scaling, and protect the RO membranes to ensure continued system efficiency and longevity.
