Description
In accordance with the Secretary of War's memorandum, Transforming the Defense Acquisition System into the Warfighting Acquisition System, our procurement strategy is now guided by a clear directive: "Commercial products and offerings, in whole or in part, as the preferred acquisition approach, with enhanced presumption of commerciality to expand qualifying vendors." This directive enables us to seek innovative, market-driven solutions for legacy systems. The 3kW Tactical Quiet Generator (TQG), having been fielded for over two decades, may be a prime candidate for such modernization. While we recognize that commercial generators may not meet every stringent military requirement out-of-the-box, we see a strategic advantage in exploring commercial generators to see if it meets the Government’s Military requirements.
