Requirements Description: The ELEVATING AND TRAVE ( Elevation Drive Assembly) is a device for elevating and traversing a weapon to its desired firing position. TANK, M1 ABRAMS FAMILY OF VEHICLES (FOV). The Elevation Drive Assembly consists of a motor brake assembly, planetary reduction unit, manual drive, output pinion, and anti-backlash drive mount mechanism. The assembly elevates or depresses the weapon of the Stabilized Commander Weapon Station (SCWS) in either powered or manual mode. The Elevation Drive controls the elevation/depression of the Commanders machine gun in the SCWS for M1A1 tanks.
