This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance on three (3) InVivo/Philips MR400 Patient Monitors in the MR section of RADIS within the NIH Clinical Center.
Below is a description of the item(s):
The Contractor shall furnish maintenance on three (3) InVivo/Philips MR Patient Monitors as follows:
(3) MR Patient Care Portal 5000
(3) Expression Patient Monitor MR400
(3) F07 Basic + AA,O2,IBP(x2), Temp
(1) Performance Assurance
InVivo/Philips is the only vendor that can provide proper maintenance for these patient monitors. If the monitors are not properly maintained, the equipment will not be able to monitor patient vital signs accurately. There is no alternative path to obtaining maintenance on these MR400 Patient Monitors. No vendor other than the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) (InVivo/Philips) can supply this. The impact of not providing a maintenance contract would be a disruption in providing safe patient care.
This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably
available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.
Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
