Department of Public Works, Fort Leavenworth, KS is seeking current relevant experience, personnel, and capability to work that includes but is not limited to General construction: The goal for this project is to replace windows and frames of 184 windows on the north side of an historic building, Building 52. The windows are located on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of the building. Replacement windows will be aluminum-clad wood and will relatively match the appearance of the existing wood windows being removed. These would be double hung, 2 over 2, double pane, and colonial red in color. Most window frames will also require replacement. Existing interior casing / trim to remain and repair as needed. In addition to replacing the “standard” size windows, there are six “non-standard” windows that need repaired. These include lunette and multi light sash types. There are eight mechanical openings that will be replaced or repaired with in-kind Mapes Panels and/or louvers.
The work to be done consists of furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, and materials as well as performing all work in strict accordance with the drawings and specifications at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
This acquisition will require a general contractor with experience and expertise capable of managing numerous task orders at the same time, which will require construction scheduling, cost estimating, quality control, and coordination of subcontractors in a wide variety of construction trades.
The contract to be awarded under this contract will be for construction in Fort Leavenworth, within the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) with a corresponding Size Standard of $45 million.
