THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MARKET RESEARCH, INFORMATION, AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP).
1. INTRODUCTION:
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), on behalf of the U.S. Navy and the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS 5.0), is announcing a classified Industry Day focused on advanced development for its Undersea Systems portfolio (PEO IWS 5A). PEO IWS 5A provides advanced development solutions for surface ship sonar, submarine sonar, imaging, and electronic warfare systems.
2. PURPOSE:
This Industry Day aims to provide industry with an understanding of Fleet undersea system needs and current capability gaps. The event will facilitate open communication between PEO IWS 5A leadership and industry partners to explore potential solutions and foster future collaboration. Additional information on specific capability gaps will be posted in a future update.
In particular, IWS 5 is seeking industry performers and subject matter experts in the areas of
- Celestial navigation
- Undersea target depth discrimination with uncertainty analysis
- Common operating picture curation tools with emphasis on quality of data
- UxV detection and classification using acoustic, imaging, or electronic warfare sensors
- Radio Frequency detection and classification in the communications band
- Cyber network traffic situational awareness tools
- Radio Frequency environmental monitoring and tactical decision analysis
- Subsea and seabed environmental monitoring and tactical decision analysis
3. EVENT DETAILS:
- Date: 11 March 2026
- Location: Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU APL), 11100 Johns Hopkins Road, Laurel MD 20723
- Building: Collaborative Analysis Center (Building 26)
- Agenda:
- Morning: Presentations from PEO IWS 5A leadership
- Afternoon: Open-format networking with PEO IWS 5A leadership, program Subject Matter Experts, and personnel from related organizations.
4. FOLLOW-UP DISCUSSIONS:
PEO IWS 5A anticipates conducting one-on-one follow-up discussions with companies possessing directly relevant technology or solutions related to the discussed capability gaps. These discussions are planned to occur within 3-6 weeks following the Industry Day. Points of contact and logistics for scheduling follow-up discussions will be provided during the Industry Day.
