THIS PROJECT IS ADVERTISED AS A TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project entails shoreline ecosystem restoration along approximately 5 miles of the mainland coast in Hancock County, Mississippi. As authorized, the work includes construction of a 150-foot-wide beach berm designed to improve habitat, coastal resilience and mitigate storm-related impacts. The berm will tie into either the elevation of the adjacent sidewalk along the existing seawall or the surrounding ground surface, whichever is lower, and will extend approximately 150 feet seaward from the seawall. To complete the berm construction, an estimated 300,000 cubic yards of sand will be sourced from an upland location, trucked in, and placed along the project area. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237990.
