The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity – Healthcare Contracting Division - South intends to award a sole source requirement for a closed-system Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) molecular analyzer and reagents at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) 96th Medical Group at Eglin, Florida, to Cepheid Inc. (Cage Code: 07YE7 ) located at 904 East Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089 under the authority of FAR Part 6.103-1,  Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing; the business size standard is 1,000 employees. The Product Service Code (PSC) is 6550 – In Vitro Diagnostic Substances, Reagents, Test Kits and Sets.

This notice is NOT a request for competitive quotes. All responsible sources may submit the information listed below, which shall be considered by the agency before the intended award date. The Government is seeking responses from businesses that are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources, rights, and capabilities necessary to provide these supplies/services. This Notice of Intent to Sole Source does not constitute a solicitation. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
