Description
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) Contract Title. 552-26-203 Demolition of Buildings 149 and 150 Background. This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements for demolishing two brick buildings, designated as Building 149 and Building 150. Both buildings have experienced a complete roof collapse causing substantial damage to the supporting walls. The extent of the damage renders the buildings irreparable, necessitating complete demolition of roof structure, and exterior supporting walls. Building 149 is located in a large courtyard surrounded by other structures and connecting corridors, which necessitates additional access and demolition considerations. Scope. The contractor shall supply all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and services to execute the following tasks: Demolition. Demolition of Building walls and roof system in their entirety. Utility Removal and Termination. Removal and safe termination of steam and condensate return lines in each building at their source. Removal and safe termination of electrical systems in each building at their source. Removal and safe termination of water supply in each building at their source. The contractor shall provide a detailed Utility Shutdown Plan outlining the steps and precautions for safely shutting down, de-energizing, and terminating all utilities for these two buildings. Retention of Structural Elements. The concrete floor of each building is to be protected and preserved. Sidewalks adjacent to both buildings are to be protected and preserved. Tunnels with concrete lids are to be protected and preserved. Temporary Fencing. Installation and maintenance of temporary fencing around the entire perimeter of the demolition sites for both Building 149 and Building 150 for the duration of the project . Fencing must be a minimum of six (6) feet high and secured to prevent unauthorized access. Clearly marked construction site signs to be placed on the fencing to indicate restricted access and necessary safety precautions. Construction Waste Documentation. The contractor shall document all construction waste generated during the demolition process. Provide documentation to the COR detailing the types and quantities of construction waste, including disposal methods and locations. Daily Logs. The contractor shall maintain and submit daily logs of all activities on the site. Daily Logs should include details of work performed, personnel on-site, equipment used, any safety incidents or near misses, and any other relevant information. Daily logs should be submitted to the Contracting Officer's Representative by the end of each work week. Performance Monitoring.
