REQUIREMENTS: This requirement is for the excessive oil leak repair of the 45611 S60 Engine at Station Port Aransas. All maintenance, repair, and overhaul services performed on the MTU S60 engine must be executed exclusively by MTU-certified technicians.
This policy is mandatory to ensure the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability as intended by the manufacturer.
To uphold warranty conditions and ensure engine longevity, the following terms are non-negotiable:
- No Subcontracting: The engagement of any third-party or subcontracting entities for any portion of the work is strictly prohibited. The authorized MTU service provider is responsible for all work performed by its direct, certified staff.
- Certified Technicians Only: All technicians must have completed extensive, official MTU training and be certified to perform work on the specified engine series.
- Genuine Parts: Only genuine MTU Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and consumables are to be used for any service or repair.
The use of non-genuine parts or service by unauthorized providers may void the engine's warranty.

DESCRIPTION:
A certified MTU diesel technician experienced in the overhaul and repair of the USCG MTU S60 engines used on the 45’ RB-M shall provide travel and labor and consumable parts to perform the repair of the Starboard engines of hull# 45611.
The use of non MTU/Detroit Dealer technician for this service will have a negative impact on the Coast Guard due to the special tooling and technician certification required to perform this service. Only a MTU technician/distributor can provide the correct parts and repairs needed to ensure the engine is sealed properly IAW MTU specifications and will function properly and accurately to new factory specifications. Using only a certified MTU/Detroit Dealer Distributor ensures and validates the engine will be functional and reliable when it is installed in the CG 45' RB-M vessel.

1.1 S60 MTU engine technician shall provide labor, and consumable parts to repair the following Stbd engine discrepancies:

- Torque all fasteners IAW MTU specifications
