6530--FY 26: Centrella Beds for Point of Care NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE-SOURCE

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Caribbean Healthcare System, Network Contracting Office 8 intends to negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of FAR part 8.405-6 (1)(B). The associated NAICS code for this service is 339113 with a size standard of 800 and PSC Code 6530. The identified vendor is Baxter/Hill-ROM. Baxter/Hill-ROM is the sole service provider for FY26 Centrella Beds Point of Care for Puerto Rico. The Centrella bed represents the only bed to provides the maximum approval results in entrapment risk test performed by Safe Patient Handling and Movement Program Manager and the test passed for all entrapment zones. This information has been confirmed with an exclusivity letter submitted by Baxter/Hill-ROM. A commodities contract with 150 days after receipt of order (ARO) delivery is anticipated and shall be awarded. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 03-17-2026 EST 1:00 PM.
