Description
The General Services Administration, Public Building Service is seeking a Texas licensed fire alarm contractor to furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision for design build services for the purpose of full replacement of the existing fire alarm system with a new fire alarm, voice communication and evacuation system at the Corpus Christi Federal Courthouse. This facility is 4 stories and approximately 169,000 sq-ft.
Qualifications -
1. Contractor Past Experience - The Contractor shall have successfully completed 3 projects installing a fire alarm system/emergency voice alarm communication system in an occupied building of at leaset 150,000 square fee with a construction value at a minimum of $750,000 in an occupied building.
2. Key Personnel - Project personnel shall meet the below installer qualifications:
- Fire Alarm Systems Designer - must be NICET Level IV and currently certified on the system by the fire alarm control equipment manufacturer. Must hold APS license in Texas with 5 years experience designing fire alarms
- Fire Alarm Systems Technician - must be NICET Level III and currently certified on the system by the fire alarm control equipment manufacturer. Must have 3 years of supervision, installation, adjustments, and test of fire alarm system.
3. Equipment Qualifications - the equipment must be provided from a manufacturer that licenses a minimum of three independent Fire Alarm installation contractors as Authorized Distributors of their brand of fire alarm products within 250 miles of the project site. All equipment and components shall be new and of the same manufacturer, brand and current model. The following manufacturers/brands are known to meet the above requirements: 1) Siemens Building Technologies 2) EST 3) Notifier
It is anticipated that this project will take approximately 365 days to complete. Please note that there is no solicitation at this time; the purpose of this announcement is to identify available sources only. Award of any resulting procurement will be based on a source selection employing a “Best Value Concept” methodology.

All interested firms will be required to register in the Government’s System for Award Management (SAM)-www.sam.gov. Prior Government work is not required for submitting a response under this Sources Sought synopsis. However, all design and construction for this project shall be required to adhere to the Scope of Work and all Federal, State and Local ordinances.
