Item Description:
The Receiver Transmitter (RT) is a system used on the B-1B and B-52H. The RT is a component of the AN/APN-224 Electronic Radar Altimeter Set. The RT transmits radio frequency pulses and detects the ground return echo pulses though the receiving antenna. The RT system measures the time difference between transmitted/received pulses.
Impediment to Competition:
The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Honeywell International, Inc. (CAGE 0BFA5), which maintains its configuration by part number and software version. The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. As a result, Honeywell International, Inc. is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the RT performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment.
INTEREST:
The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Honeywell International, Inc. for the manufacture of the RT in support of the AN/APN-224 program. Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 12-MAR-2026 by emailing Jarvis Keels, jarvis.keels@us.af.mil and/or timothy.randall.4@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure these items using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
