Description
The Technical Applications Products Section has a requirement to procure 98 rolls of 3M 850 Tape (Deactivation Strip - Brown) in accordance with drawing G1-47-1611, Rev H, Part No -002, for the Automated Ground Filter Unit (AGFU). The AGFU is a unique ground based particulate sampler that supports DOD and other agencies air sampling requirements. The AGFU has been base-lined and is under configuration control. The base-line documentation (Technical Instruction 13-AGFU-1 & 13-AGFU-2) calls for specific tape and process. The use of other type of tape will require investigation, testing and Configuration Control Board (CCB) approval.
UPDATE: 2/3/2026. The government intends on procuring this supply via sole source. Justification and Approval attached.
