Print Bid Title: Belfast Incubator Survey Category: Economic Development Status: Closed Description: The City of Belfast, Maine is currently investigating the need for a business incubator facility to help new businesses start up in Belfast. Business incubation is a business support process that accelerates the successful development of startup and fledgling companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services. A business incubator’s main goal is to produce successful firms that will leave the program financially viable and freestanding. These incubator graduates have the potential to create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize new technologies, and strengthen local and national economies. Typically, an incubator provides management guidance, technical assistance and consulting tailored to growing companies. Incubators usually provides clients access to appropriate rental space and flexible leases, shared basic business services and equipment, technology support services and assistance in obtaining the financing necessary for company growth. To help the City of Belfast decide if an incubator facility would indeed be useful, we are asking interested parties to provide their opinions by responding to the below survey (see under 'Related Documents' for both a Word version and a fillable Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf) version). We would very much appreciate responses to this survey by February 8th, 2013. In addition, if you deem it appropriate, we would appreciate you forwarding this survey to any startup or mature businesses, or individuals/groups considering starting a business for them to respond as well. We are happy to either provide you with additional surveys that you can forward onto them, or directly send it to them if you are able to share their contact information with us. (Only if it is appropriate.)
