PURPOSE: The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to obtain industry capabilities, to determine interest in participation, and to determine the availability to provide Pest Control at U.S. Coast Guard units, with locations in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. The information from this market research will help them with the acquisition strategy. Firms are strongly encouraged to provide comments, questions, and suggestions relative to the project scope, methodologies and technologies, and approach. Any input that businesses or interested parties would like to provide will be reviewed and considered.
SCOPE/DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
The contractor shall furnish trained, qualified personnel and any required special tools or equipment necessary to complete any work task, which may be issued. The contractor shall develop an IPM plan, for approval by Facility Managers, to address all insect and rodent issues. The contractor’s IPM plan shall establish the strategy and methods for conducting a safe, effective, and environmentally sound pest management program. Contractor may review the installation’s historical records of pest activity and abatement actions (if available), survey facilities and grounds. The IPM approach should use targeted (effective, environmentally sound) methods including habitat/facility modification, biological/genetic/cultural control, mechanical/physical control, and where necessary, the judicious use of least hazardous pesticides to the needs at each site. The IPM plan shall comply with all applicable Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), state/local regulatory guidance on pesticide storage, disposal and applications.
