INVITATION TO BID - BANANA POINT BREAKWATER IMPROVEMENTS Bid/RFP Status: Closed - no longer accepting bids and proposals Bid/RFP Due Date: Friday, September 26, 2025 - 2:00pm Back to Bids/RFPs BREAKWATER IMPROVEMENTS. The purpose of this project is to replace the floating breakwater system that is at the Banana Point Boat Launch. The existing floating breakwater system consist of 24" x 95' steel boom floats with chains & anchors. The existing system is approximately 30+ years old and originally consisted of 7 steel boom floats. There are only 1 floating steel boom floats remaining & 3 grounded steel booms at various locations. These will be removed and replaced with a similar system as the original. The new floating breakwater will consist of 7 - 24" x 95' steel boom floats with heavier chains & anchors located in approximately the same location as the original floating breakwater. All contractors must complete the Contractor Notification Form. The estimated construction cost for the base bid is between $500,000 & $800,000. All Work must be completed by October 31, 2026. Sealed bids will be received by the Petersburg Borough, Post Office Box 329, Petersburg, Alaska 99833, located upstairs in the Municipal Building, 12 South Nordic Drive, Petersburg, Alaska 99833 until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, September 26, 2025, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Assembly Chambers Conference Room.
