The qualified diagnostic medical physicist(s) shall perform an evaluation of the operation of all G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC x-ray or imaging devices including CT (Computed Tomography) units, gamma cameras, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) units, rad/fluoro rooms, c-arms, portable x-ray devices, fixed specialty units, shielding design, and CR (Computed Radiography) readers using appropriate radiation measuring devices and phantoms. The contractor shall present a written report on each x-ray device identifying the x-ray device by serial number as well as the functional parameters of the x-ray device. A written report of the results shall be provided to the RSO (Radiation Safety Officer) within 5 working days after completion of the inspection. All x-ray or imaging equipment shall be inspected at least annually. Kindly review PWS in attachment for more information.
