Description
This is a Notice of Intent published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information regarding proposed contract actions. This Notice of Intent is for a proposed award of a sole source firm fixed price contract to the following contractor in support of Flood Mitigation Services in support of the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System, 2501 W 22nd Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57105-5046: INTERIOR TECHNICIANS, INC. 501 N HARLEM AVE Sioux Falls, SD 57104 This is done under authority of 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), IAW FAR 13.106-1 This is not a request for competitive quotes. Market research revealed that INTERIOR TECHNICIANS, INC. is immediately available and qualified to perform the required remediation services and sole service provider for the Sioux Falls, SD VA Health Care System. An urgent need exists and following established procurement procedures would result in unacceptable delays. An urgent and compelling need to mitigate water and sewage that has leaked out of the Sioux Falls, SD VAHCS plumbing system and into Building 16 is required to be mitigated and any repairs to damaged areas are required to be completed. Interior Technicians Inc., a small business, is a fully qualified contractor that provides service in the greater Sioux Falls, SD area (within 50 nautical miles) and is the only qualified contractor available to immediately start performing the required mitigation services. SPECIFIC MANDATORY TASKS AND ASSOCIATED DELIVERABLES A. Immediately respond with flood mitigation team to remove water in basement of Building 16 and crawl space Building 17, provide necessary equipment to dehumidify and provide airflow. B. Decontaminate Building 16 basement space as if the water included bacteria C. Remove and replace all water contaminated wall materials up to 24.5 above finished floor height in basement of Building 16 D. Mobilize electrical contractor to inspect all electrical equipment in the basement of Building 16 and crawl space of Building 17 E. Replace Electrical equipment that was impacted by water in Basement of Building 16 including but not limited to: A. Electrical outlets below the water line B. Water heater in NE corner of building C. Air compressor in NE corner of building D. Components in MDP located in SW Electrical Room E. Replace panel 16-B F. Remove files from basement of Building 16 A. Shred sensitive files onsite using VA approved vendor B. Dispose of non-sensative files C. Dispose of electronic equipment damaged by water D.
