Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) herein issues solicitation 15B40126Q00000010 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Replace Condensate Tank System at the Metropolitan Correctional Complex (MCC) Chicago, located in Chicago, Illinois. MCC Chicago is a federally owned facility located at 71 W. Van Buren Street, Chicago, IL 60605. The project consists of the following:
The Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) Chicago has a construction requirement for replacing the condensate tank system. The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials, and labor for the complete replacement of the condensate system. MCC Chicago has an existing Condensate System consisting of 2 raised horizontal condensate receiver atmospheric tanks, 3 condensate pumps (moving condensate from receiver tanks to boilers), and all pipework associated with the Condensate Tank System. The 2 receiver tanks were built and installed in 1975. One of the two tanks is currently offline due to an unrepairable leak. Due to the location of the tanks, both tanks, all associated pipework, and the 3 pumps will need to be replaced. All work will be performed in the non-winter months when there is less steam demand.
Contractors are required to attend a pre-work meeting in order to coordinate and plan with the on-site staff prior to the day of work.
All work shall comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
