Description

The Hillcrest Estates Community Safe Room project, located in Altoona, WI, is now accepting bids for General Construction Contracting services. Please see the attached Advertisement for Bids for more information on how to submit a bid. The Community Safe Room will have an 890-person capacity (884 ambulatory, 6 wheelchair) to serve all current and future residents of the Hillcrest Estates Mobile Home Park in Altoona, their visitors and staff. It will be funded, in large part, by a grant to the City of Altoona from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) . The facility will be 5,600 gross square feet (4,480 square feet usable Safe Room floor area) and designed, constructed, and maintained to FEMA standards for the protection of the life safety of the target population from tornado and high wind events.
