Description

Sealed bids are invited for the construction of the Stone Hall Fire Alarm Upgrade project at Patrick & Henry Community College, Project Code # 260-B5260-017 (M25PH104), located in Martinsville, Virginia. The project is generally described as installation of a new fire alarm system with emergency voice and alarm communication system. The new system is designed to current codes, and once commissioned, the removal of the existing fire alarm system. Work associated with the installation of the new fire alarm system shall include cutting and patching, painting, ceiling system modifications, wall repair, and floor repair, all as required to match existing conditions where re-work is required for installation of the new fire alarm system. The new fire alarm control panel in Stone Hall will report to the campus master fire alarm panel located in West Hall that is currently monitored by a third-party monitoring company. Sealed bids will be received electronically through eVA or at Virginia Community College System, Attention: Mrs. Sibyl Roberts, 300 Arboretum Place, Suite 200, Richmond, Virginia 23236, Telephone (804) 819-4918. PLEASE NOTE: For shipping/mailing, use Suite 390; for hand delivery, use Suite 200. The deadline for submitting bids is 2:00 P.M. sharp, as determined by the Bid Officer, on Wednesday February 25, 2026. The bids will be opened publicly and read aloud beginning at 2:00 P.M., on the following day, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the same location. In person hand delivery is supported on bid day at the stated location. Building is open during regular business hours. All visitors need to sign in at the virtual receptionist (iPad on the wall in the main lobby.) Bids may be modified as per the Instructions to Bidders using fax number (804) 819-4762 and copying sroberts@vccs.edu. A Standard Commonwealth Bid Bond is required (DGS Form CO-10.2) for any bid regardless of the bid amount. The bidder or offeror shall be a registered vendor in eVA. A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Patrick & Henry Community College, 620 Patriot Ave, Martinsville, VA 24112 in the West Hall, Room 227. Attendance is optional but highly recommended for those submitting a bid.
