The County of Loudoun, Virginia (the County) is initiating a two-step (2-step) procurement process for the construction of the Adult Detention Center Expansion â Phase III (the Project). This Request for Qualifications (RFQu) represents Step One (1), through which the County is soliciting Prequalification Applications from experienced and capable General Contractors.The purpose of this phase is to evaluate and identify firms that meet the Countyâs minimum qualifications and project-specific criteria. Only those General Contractors deemed qualified through this RFQu process will be invited to participate in Step Two (2), a formal Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued exclusively to prequalified firms.This solicitation is limited to General Contractors. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:⢠Sitework and paving⢠Construction of an inmate housing unit addition⢠Construction of an administrative offices addition⢠Renovation of the existing kitchen⢠Renovation and expansion of the laundry facilities⢠Construction of a new maintenance buildingGeneral Contractors successfully prequalified through this process will be eligible to receive and respond to the forthcoming IFB.
