Major Interstate Maintenance (MIM) grind/inlay paving along Interstate 5 in North Douglas County (District 7) between MP 139 and MP 143.

2026 NORTH DOUGLAS (DISTRICT 7 ) MIM PAVING


SCOPE

The work to be completed under this Contract consists of the following work located along Interstate 5,
between mile points 139 and 143, in Douglas County, OR:

 Complete Cold Plane Pavement Removal of asphalt concrete surface, furnish and place Emulsified
Asphalt Tack Coat, and furnish and place Level 4, ½” Dense Asphalt Concrete Pavement at the
following locations and as directed:

APPLICABLE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL PROVISIONS

2024 OREGON STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION: The 2024 Oregon Standard
Specifications for Construction (Standard Specifications) include detailed technical specifications in Parts
00200 through 03000 inclusive (Technical Specifications) that apply to this ITB and the resulting Contract.
Some sections of the Technical Specifications are identified and modified herein, Specifications. Sections
of the Technical Specifications not modified remain applicable to the Contract according to their original
terms. Unless they are identified herein, Specifications, sections of the Standard Specifications in Part
00100 (General Conditions) are not applicable to this Contract. Bidders can also access this information

2024 OREGON STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION

Silence of Specifications: The apparent silence of the specifications as to any detail, or the apparent
omission of a detailed description concerning any point, shall be regarded as meaning that the highest

SECTION 00220 - ACCOMMODATIONS FOR PUBLIC TRAFFIC

Comply with Section 00220 of the Standard Specifications modified as follows:

Construction

00220.40(e)(1) Closed Lanes - Replace this subsection, except for the subsection number and title, with
the following:

One or more Traffic Lanes may be closed on the Pacific Highway (I-5) when allowed, shown, or directed
during the following periods of time except as specified in 00220.40(e)(2):

 Nightly, Sunday night through Friday morning, between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.


SECTION 00221 - COMMON PROVISIONS FOR WORK ZONE TRAFFIC CONTROL

Comply with Section 00221 of the Standard Specifications modified as follows:

Description

00221.00 Scope - Replace this subsection, except for the subsection number and title, with the following:

Work zone traffic control will be installed and maintained by State forces as needed for the duration of the
project. The Contractor shall schedule and coordinate work zone traffic control with the ODOT Project
Manager or designated representative, a minimum of 28 days prior to beginning work.

No separate or additional payment will be made for Temporary Flexible Pavement Markers as they are
considered incidental to the asphalt concrete paving work required under Section 00745.

The Contractor shall install and maintain temporary flexible pavement markings at no additional cost to the
Agency until ODOT forces can restore any permanent pavement markings removed during paving
operations.


SECTION 00620 - COLD PLANE PAVEMENT REMOVAL

Comply with Section 00620 of the Standard Specifications modified as follows:

Construction

00620.43 Maintenance Under Traffic - Replace this subsection, except for the subsection number and
title, with the following:

Traffic is not allowed on the cold planed surface. Before opening the area to traffic, pave the surface
according to 00745.51.

Provide PG 70-22 ER grade asphalt cement for this project.

Construction

00745.47(a)(2) Wearing Course - Replace this subsection, except for the subsection number and title,
with the following:

Construct longitudinal joints six inches from permanent lane markings, or as shown or directed.

00745.51 Opening Sections to Traffic - Schedule Work so that, during the same shift, the surfaces being
paved are paved full width and length through the wearing Course before opening to traffic.

Measurement

00745.80 Measurement - Add the following paragraph to the beginning of this subsection:

Replace the paragraph that begins "The quantities of ACP..." with the following paragraph:

The quantities of ACP will be measured on the weight basis. No separate measurement will be made for
asphalt cement used in the mixture. No deduction will be made for lime or any other additives or
treatments used in the mixture.
