TOWN OF MOUNT OLIVE
Separate sealed bids for the demolition/clearance of one (1) house and provision/set-up of one (1) State Building Code modular house will be received at Mount Olive Town Hall, 114 East James Street, Mount Olive, NC on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., then be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals may be submitted to the Town Clerk’s office, 114 East James Street, P. O. Box 939, Mount Olive, NC 28365, prior to the Bid Opening.
Bid Proposals may be examined and obtained at the following locations: RSM Harris Associates, Inc., 2719 Graves Drive-Suite 2, P.O. Box 10037, Goldsboro, NC 27532, phone 919-751-0909; and at the Town Clerk's Office, 114 East James Street, P. O. Box 939, Mount Olive, NC 28365, phone 919-658-9539.
The Town has received $950,000 in a federal 2023 CDBG-NR grant representing 100% of total project costs to undertake housing clearance, reconstruction (modular replacement on site) and rehabilitation activities. All federal CDBG requirements will apply to the contract: Bidders on this work will be required to comply with Section 109 and E.O. 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Anti-Kickback Act, E-Verify Regulations, and Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. The Town is committed to and supportive of efforts to effectively maintain and/or increase the use of Small and Minority/Women-Owned Business, veteran-owned businesses, and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) contract participation for construction projects, services (including professional and consulting services) and commodities purchases; and increase contract participation to offer employment, training and contracting opportunities to low and very low-income persons in the Town in accordance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended. Small, minority, and/or women owned, veteran owned, Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB), and Section 3 businesses are encouraged to submit bids. The Town supports and encourages support of the Fair Housing Act which prohibits discrimination in housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, family status, and disability.
Bidders may not be debarred from receiving state or federal contracts. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
