Description
The Legal Training Section, Training Support Branch, Training Operations Division of the Department of Criminal Justice Training is seeking the services of four (4) attorney/trainers to fill four (4) vacancies for the Moot Court training sessions scheduled during the final week of the Basic Training Academy. The RFP will require four (4) contracts, one for each of the selected attorney/trainers. The attorney/trainers will serve in the role as defense attorneys in mock trial settings that are based on cases, which students have worked during the course of their training. Attorney/trainers will review students' paperwork and materials prior to the courtroom exercise, cross-examine the students on their testimony and critique the students' performances as to their paperwork and materials presented on their testimony given during the mock trial. Classes contain a minimum of fifteen (15) students to a maximum of forty-two (42) students, making it necessary to run two sessions concurrently. Each attorney/trainer may conduct up to a maximum of thirteen (13) sessions per fiscal year. Contracts awarded through the RFP shall be effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028. The Commonwealth reserves the right to renew this contract for up to two (2) additional two (2) year periods.
