In general the scope of work includes, but is not limited to, replacement of plaster, glazed roof assembly replacement, masonry repair/repointing, roofing, concrete work and select site work. The Work is located at the Rockwood Mansion , 610 Shipley Road, Wilmington, DE. Contractors proposing to submit a bid must acquire the Bid Package (Plans and Specifications) from the following source: StudioJAED ftp site: Bidders may download the Bid Package from the StudioJAED ftp site by calling Phil Conte at 302-832-1652 who will give instructions on downloading the Bid Package. Drawings will be available on December 5, 2017. The last date and time for questions shall be January 2, 2018. Questions shall be in written format. Plans and Specifications are available for review by appointment on or after December 5, 2017 at New Castle County Special Services, William J. Conner Building, 187-A Old Churchmans Road, New Castle, DE 19720. Call Stephen Ruble first at telephone 302-395-5805. Bids addressed to the New Castle County Purchasing Division will be received by the Purchasing Division, New Castle County Government Center, 87 Reads Way, New Castle, DE, 19720, (302-395-5250) until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 , when they will be opened and read publicly. No Bid will be accepted after that time. Bid envelopes shall carry a clear notation: “Rockwood Mansion, Wintergarden & Gardener’s Cottage – General Trades, Contract 2018-09Ra, Bid #18-1809Ra” Bids shall be accompanied by a Bidder’s bond or certified check in an amount equal to 10 percent of the bid price, payable to New Castle County and conditioned to be forfeited to said County for failure to enter into a contract, if awarded. Awards, if any, will be made to the lowest responsible qualified Bidder. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive minor irregularities. Bidders are required to submit all Proposal pages with their Bid. The Proposal must be signed and sealed. A Bid bond must be included with the Proposal. Any deviation from these instructions may result in the rejection of your Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to give bond of a surety company, acceptable to the County, and licensed to do business in the State of Delaware, in the amount of the contract price.
