Bid Postings • 19-1905 Brandywine Hundred North Manhole Repa Skip to Main Content Services Governance Community Business Search Home Bid Postings Print Print Bid Number: 19-1905 Bid Title: 19-1905 Brandywine Hundred North Manhole Repairs Project Category: Construction Contracts Status: Closed Description: Sealed bids are invited by New Castle County Department of Public Works for locating and uncovering buried manholes; inspecting manholes; sealing manhole joints; resetting and replacing manhole frames and covers; replacement of manhole steps; rebuilding manhole channels and benches; plugging inactive laterals connected to manholes; installing inside drop piping; and driveway seal coating in accordance with the Contract Drawings and Specifications. The Work is located in several neighborhoods of Brandywine Hundred in northern New Castle County. Plans and Specifications may be obtained on or after September 13, 2018, at the William J. Conner Building, 187-A Old Churchmans Road, New Castle DE, 19720 from the Contracts Officer, room 058, telephone (302) 395-5749 upon non-refundable payment of $50.00. Cash or checks only. Sealed bids addressed to the New Castle County Purchasing Division will be received by the Purchasing Division, New Castle County Government Center, 87 Reads Way, New Castle, DE, 19720, telephone (302) 395-5250 until 2:00 p.m. on October 30, 2018 when they will be opened and read publicly. Bids from firms not prequalified will not be considered. Bid envelopes shall carry a clear notation “BRANDYWINE HUNDRED NORTH MANHOLE REPAIRS PROJECT” Contract 2018-20, Bid No. 19-1905.” Bids shall be accompanied by a Bidder’s bond or certified check in an amount equal to 10 percent of the bid price, payable to New Castle County and conditioned to be forfeited to said County for failure to enter into a contract, if awarded. Awards, if any, will be made to the lowest responsible bidder. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities. Bidders are required to submit all Proposal pages with their bid. The Proposal must be signed and sealed. A bid bond must be included with the Proposal. The CRC form, if not already submitted, must also be included with your submission. Any deviation from these instructions may result in the rejection of your bid. The successful Bidder will be required to give bond of a surety company, acceptable to the County and licensed to do business in the State of Delaware, in the amount of the contract price. PREQUALIFICATION New Castle County will only accept bids from contractors prequalified with the County in the category E(c), Sanitary Sewers, Collector Sewers. Contractors must hold prequalifications dated within two (2) years of the bid date. Prequalification Forms addressed to the Chief of Project Management must be received by the Department of Public Works, William J. Conner Building, 187-A Old Churchmans Road, New Castle, DE, 19720, until 4:00 p.m. on September 28, 2018 in order to bid on this project. Prequalification envelopes shall carry a clear notation “BRANDYWINE HUNDRED NORTH MANHOLE REPAIRS PROJECT”, Contract 2018-20, Prequalification Forms for Bid No. 19-1905. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLITY CERTIFICATION Contractors proposing to submit a bid to New Castle County for a Public Works Contract expected to exceed $500,000.00 are required to complete and submit a signed original Contractor Responsibility Certification (CRC) form. The New Castle County Department of Public Works, Contracts Officer, must receive this executed form no later than the advertised deadline for bid submittals. Failure to submit the form by that time shall result in the County’s inability to consider your bid for award. CRC forms submitted by facsimile will not be accepted. Bidders are encouraged to submit the CRC form in advance of the Bid. The form is available at: http://nccde.org/DocumentCenter/View/78.
