Print Bid Number: DWS Job No. 09-12 Bid Title: Construction of Wailuku Well Development Category: Construction - All Construction Status: Closed Description: NOTICE TO BIDDERS SEALED BIDS for the CONSTRUCTION OF WAILUKU WELL DEVELOPMENT, DWS JOB NO. 09-12, WAILUKU, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2012, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as specified in the bid documents to convert the Wailuku Exploratory Well into a production well. The work involves construction of the pumping station, transmission pipeline, and connection to the 3.0-million gallon Iao Tank. Pumping station components include a 1,400-gallon per minute deep well submersible pump, well pump piping, a 640-square foot control building, electrical controls and telemetry systems, and site improvements. Site improvements include a paved driveway, a 50-foot by 50-foot paved service yard, security fencing, domestic water service, electrical distribution circuits, and drainage improvements. The transmission pipeline consists of about 1,000 feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe between the pumping station and the Iao Tank site. Work at the Iao Tank site involves a connection to the existing inlet piping and modifications to the tank site piping. Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of the Department of Water Supply at a cost of FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($45.00) PER SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply". A pre-bid tour and conference of the project site will be scheduled for OCTOBER 11, 2012. While the County of Maui cannot require contractors to attend a mandatory pre-bid tour, it is strongly encouraged that all contractors intending to bid, attend the pre-bid tour on October 11, 2012. If any contractor chooses to not attend, they will be allowed to bid and they will be held responsible for all observable site conditions, which can only be observed by attending the pre-bid tour. Contractors shall not be allowed any changes to the contract where the information was provided at the pre-bid tour. Bidders attending the pre-bid tour and meeting shall meet at 8:30 AM OCTOBER 11, 2012 at the entrance to the Kalana O Maui Building, 200 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. Bidders intending to attend this pre-bid tour and conference are requested to call 270-7835 and inform the Department of Water Supply of their intent to attend the conference at least three (3) days prior to the date of the pre-bid tour/conference date. To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess applicable and valid State of Hawaii Contractor licenses to perform the work. Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended. __________________________________ Danny F.
