Print Bid Number: JOB NO. 10-04 Bid Title: Addendum #1 Waikamoi Flume Replacement Category: Construction - All Construction Status: Closed Description: Addendum No. 1 NOTICE TO BIDDERS SEALED BIDS for the WAIKAMOI FLUME REPLACEMENT, JOB NO. 10-04, MAKAWAO, ISLAND OF MAUI, STATE OF HAWAII, will be received by the Director of the Department of Water Supply, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th floor, 200 South High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, until 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2012, at which time and place sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The project involves furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment as necessary to replace the existing redwood flume system with a new aluminum flume system. This includes whatever improvements to the access roadway that the Contractor considers to be necessary to satisfactorily complete the work. The existing timber flume system is in poor condition therefore, the Contractor will not be allowed to utilize the existing flume to transport laborers, equipment or material. All means of transport must be by alternate methods, such as helicopters, and means and methods that will be left up to the Contractor. The Contractor will be completely responsible for the safety of their workers and the condition of the functioning sections of the flume during construction operations. Bid documents may be purchased from the Engineering Division of the Department of Water Supply at a cost of FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) PER SET. A compact disk (CD) containing the bid documents can also be purchased for an additional TEN DOLLARS ($10.00). There will be no refund for these bid documents once they are purchased. Payment shall be in the form of cash, check or money order payable to "Department of Water Supply". A pre-bid tour and conference of the project site will be scheduled for SEPTEMBER 20, 2012. While the County of Maui cannot require contractors to attend a mandatory pre-bid tour, it is strongly encouraged that all contractors intending to bid, attend the pre-bid tour on September 20, 2012. If any contractor chooses to not attend, they will be allowed to bid and they will be held responsible for all observable site conditions, which can only be observed by attending the pre-bid tour. Contractors shall not be allowed any changes to the contract where the information was provided at the pre-bid tour. Bidders shall meet at 8:30 AM at the entrance to the Kalana O Maui Building, 200 S. High Street, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. Bidders intending to attend this pre-bid tour and conference are requested to call 270-7835 and inform the Department of Water Supply of their intent to attend the conference at least three (3) days prior to the date of the pre-bid tour/conference date. To be eligible to bid, bidders must possess applicable and valid State of Hawaii Contractor licenses to perform the work. Bids must be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid, including additives, payable to the "County of Maui" and in compliance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, as amended. _____________________ Danny F.
