Print Bid Number: 08-09/P-30 Bid Title: Central Maui Landfill, Phase V-A, Disposal Cell and Related Improvements Category: Construction - All Construction Status: Closed Description: NOTICE TO BIDDERS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 103D, HRS, SEALED BID PROPOSALS for supplying, furnishing, and paying for all labor, materials, tools, transportation, and equipment necessary to construct in place complete, all work as called for on the plans and specifications for CENTRAL MAUI LANDFILL, PHASE V-A DISPOSAL CELL AND RELATED IMPROVEMENTS, Job No. 08-09/P-30, will be received and time stamped by the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department of Finance, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, HI 96793, up to and publicly opened at 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 . Base bid work for this project involves excavation, structural fill and grading, installation of compacted low permeability soil and geomembrane liners, installation of leachate collection and removal systems, and construction of asphalt paved roads, drainage channels and perimeter fencing at Central Maui Landfill, Pulehu Rd., Puunene, Maui. Additive Alternate bid items include additional excavation and grading, installation of a leachate pumping and control system, construction of approximately 700 linear feet of 30-ft. tall permanent litter fence, and construction of an additional unloading bay at the public convenience disposal facility. Estimated base bid and additive alternate construction cost is between $ 8,000,000 and $ 9,500,000. Plans, specifications, and proposal forms may be examined and purchased at the Purchasing Division office. Purchase price of bid documents is $50.00 payable by cash or check. Bidders must be qualified in compliance with Section 103-310, H.R.S. A State of Hawaii Contractor's License is required. Prospective bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting and job walk to be held Wednesday, December 3, 2008, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the landfill office at the Phase IV entrance facility, Central Maui Landfill, Pulehu Rd., Puunene, Maui. The Contractor and all Subcontractor(s), if any, shall comply with all applicable revisions of the prevailing wage rate schedule as required by Chapter 104, H.R.S. No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by one of the following forms of bidders security: cash, a cashier's check or certified check on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or a bidder's bond executed by an approved surety insurer, made payable to the Director of Finance in the manner, form, and amount required by Section 103D-323, H.R.S. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid submitted. KALBERT K.
