Print Bid Title: 2018 Street Patching Project (4309) Category: City Clerk Status: Closed Description: CITY OF MINOT, NORTH DAKOTA 2018 STREET PATCHING PROJECT CITY PROJECT 4309 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Minot, North Dakota (Owner) will receive sealed Bids for the construction of the 2018 STREET PATCHING PROJECT, at the office of the City Clerk, 515 Second Avenue SW (Second Floor), Minot, North Dakota, until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers. All Bids must be submitted, and all work shall be done, in full and strict compliance with: 1. The Plans & Contract Documents for this project; 2. Any Supplemental Specifications for this project; 3. City of Minot Standard Specifications and Details Complete digital project bidding documents are available at www.questcdn.com. You may download the digital plan documents for $40 by inputting eBidDoc #5531062 on the website’s Project Search page. Please contact QuestCDN.com at 952-233-1632 or for assistance in free membership registration, downloading, and working with this digital project information. Project bidding documents are also available at the City Engineering Department 1025 31st St SE and are available for purchase for $75. Potential bidders may contact the Assistant City Engineer at 701-857-4100 with any questions. The improvements consist of the following approximate quantities of materials: Various Size Bituminous Patching 64,300 SF, Common Excavation 358 CY, Portland Cement Concrete Replacement 279 SY, Remove and Replace Curb and Gutter 28 LF, Various Size Grooved Pavement Markings 202 LF, Aggregate Base Class 5 674 TN, Traffic Control, and other various items. All Bids are to be submitted on the basis of cash payment for the Work and Materials, and are to be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the undersigned City of Minot, accompanied by a separate envelope containing a Bidder’s Bond in the sum equal to 5% of the full amount of the Bid, executed by the Bidder as Principal, and by a Surety, conditioned that if the Principal’s Bid is accepted and the contract awarded to the Principal, the Principal, within ten days after notice of award, shall execute a Contract in accordance with the terms of the Bid and Performance and Payment Bonds as required by the law and the regulation and determinations of City of Minot. Countersignature of a Bid Bond is not required. Bidders shall be licensed for the full amount of the Bid, as required by Section 43-07-05 of the North Dakota Century Code. No Bid may be read or considered if it does not fully comply with the requirements of Section 48-01.2-05 of the North Dakota Century Code. Any deficient Bid received will be resealed and returned to the Bidder immediately. The Owner reserves the right to hold all Bids for 60 days, to reject any or all Bids and to waive any informality or irregularity in any Bid. Also, a copy of the Bidder’s Contractor’s License or License Renewal must be included in the Bid Bond envelope. If a successful bidder does not execute a contract within the ten days allowed, the bidder’s bond must be forfeited to the governing body and the project awarded to the next lowest responsible bidder. There shall be endorsed upon the outside of the envelope containing the Bid, the following: 1. “2018 Street Patching Project” 2. The name of the person, firm, corporation, or joint venture submitting the Bid. 3. Acknowledgement of the Addenda. Milestone 1 shall be substantially complete by August 17, 2018. All work shall be substantially complete by October 19, 2018. All work shall be completed and ready for final payment in accordance with the General Conditions by November 2, 2018. Contractor and Owner recognize that time is of the essence of the Agreement and that the Owner will suffer financial loss if the Work is not completed within the times specified above, plus any extensions thereof allowed in accordance with Article 11 of the General Conditions. The parties also recognize the delays, expense, and difficulties involved in proving in a legal or arbitration preceding the actual loss suffered by Owner if the Work is not completed on time. Accordingly, instead of requiring any such proof, Owner and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty), Contractor shall pay Owner $750 for each day that expires after the time specified above.
