Print Bid Title: Institutional Food Service Operation Proposal Category: Requests for Proposals Status: Closed Description: Call for Bids Institutional Food Service Operation Proposal Brookings County is seeking proposals from food service contractors/correctional food service specialists/food service delivery systems to provide a complete food service to the inmate residents of the Brookings County Detention Center at 315 Seventh Avenue, Brookings, South Dakota. The current facility, the Brookings County Detention Center, is a local maximum-security facility and is operated by the County Sheriff, assisted by a staff of approximately twenty-seven (27) employees. The Brookings County Detention Center had a local average daily population of 33 in 2018, 40 in 2019, and 35 in 2020, not including housing for out of county inmates. The local population spikes into the 50s from time to time, which is maximum capacity. The jail currently has no kitchen and meals are provided via catering contract, with all meals prepared out of house and delivered to the facility. With the new jail construction, maximum capacity is set at 86, we are able to design a kitchen from the ground up to meet all of the needs of the new facility. A copy of the description of service and the food service contract are available at the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office. The terms of the proposed contract take priority over this RFP. All proposals shall be based on a cost per meal for each of the meals. Proposals should be submitted before 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 26, 2021 and should be addressed to: Brookings County Sheriff Food Service Bid 315 7th Avenue Brookings, SD 57006 Proposals will be opened at 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office – Conference Room, 315 7th Ave., Brookings, SD 57006.
