Description

This is a public notice prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.2 – Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions.


The Library of Congress, Contracts and Grants Directorate, has awarded a sole-source firm fixed price contract to: The American Library Association (225 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60601). The work to be performed under the contract will be performed at the following location: 2301 S Dr Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Chicago, IL 60616 


The period of performance of the contract shall run as follows: 05/01/2026 – 07/01/2026. It is valued at an amount below the simplified acquisition threshold, but above the public notice threshold. The work shall consist of the following:


The Library of Congress requires 1,200 square feet of exhibit booth rental space and 4 corners at the annual conference of the American Library Association. The ALA annual conference will be housed in the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, IL. The exhibits will be open from Friday evening, June 26, 2026 through Monday afternoon, June 29, 2026. Set up for the exhibits begins on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 and the removal of the exhibits begins Monday afternoon, June 29, 2026.


This announcement constitutes the only public notice, proposals are not being requested from other parties and a written solicitation will not be issued. This public notice accomplishes the following:


1. Notice of the Library's sole source award of this requirement to the business listed herein;
2. Synopsizing the requirements in accordance with the FAR; and
3. Publicly posting the approved Justification and Approval (J&A).
