Bid Postings • 15-1524 Boxwood Road Sanitary Sewer Improveme Skip to Main Content Services Governance Community Business Search Home Bid Postings Print Print Bid Number: 15-1524 Bid Title: 15-1524 Boxwood Road Sanitary Sewer Improvements Category: Construction Contracts Status: Closed Description: Sealed bids are invited for: the abandonment of 242 LF of 18” terra cotta sanitary sewer pipe and the replacement with 416 LF of 18” VCP pipe; abandonment of 400 LF of 8” PVC pipe and installation of 308 LF of 8” PVC pipe; replacement of 926 LF of 15” terra cotta pipe with 15” VCP pipe; along with associated manholes, frames and covers, lateral re-connections, point repairs at various locations and all associated demolition, clearing, grubbing, tree removal, dewatering, by-pass pumping, pavement removal, maintenance of traffic, restoration and erosion & sediment control as described in the specifications and on the drawings. The work is located within several locations in the Boxwood, Richardson Park and Elsmere areas of Christiana Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware. ADC Grid 15-E8. Bids addressed to the New Castle County Purchasing Division will be received by the Purchasing Division, New Castle County Government Center, 87 Reads Way, New Castle, DE, 19720, until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 when they will be opened and read publicly. Bid envelopes shall carry a clear notation “Boxwood Road Sanitary Sewer Improvements” Contract 2015-18, Bid #15-1524. Plans and specifications may be obtained in the William J. Conner Building, 187-A Old Churchmans Road, Room 058, New Castle, DE, 19720, telephone (302) 395-5749 on and after June 12, 2015 upon payment of $50.00 (non-refundable.) Bids shall be accompanied by a bidder’s bond or certified check in an amount equal to 10% of the bid price, payable to New Castle County and conditioned to be forfeited to said County for failure to enter into a contract, if awarded. Awards, if any, will be made to the lowest responsible bidder. The County reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive minor irregularities. Bidders are required to submit all Proposal pages with their bid. The Proposal must be signed and sealed. A bid bond must be included with the Proposal. The CRC form, if not already submitted, must also be included with your submission. Any deviation from these instructions may result in the rejection of your bid. The successful Bidder will be required to give bond of a surety company, acceptable to the County, and licensed to do business in the State of Delaware, in the amount of the contract price. CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY CERTIFICATION Contractors proposing to submit a bid to New Castle County for a Special Services Contract expected to exceed $100,000. are required to complete and submit a signed original Contractor Responsibility Certification (CRC) form. This form should be submitted as soon as possible but in all cases must be received by the New Castle County Department of Special Services, Contracts Officer no later than the advertised deadline for bid submittals. Failure to submit the form by this time will result in the County’s inability to consider your bid for award. PREBID MEETING There will be a pre-bid meeting at 9:00 a.m. on June 17, 2015 in the General Meeting Room of the William J. Conner Building, 187-A Old Churchmans Road, New Castle, DE 19720.
