Product Service Code (PSC): J066 Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Equipment - Instruments and Laboratory Equipment

Description:

This requirement is for GridION instrument services at the National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL). The support plan maintenance services for the Oxford nanopore sequencing instrument include the following tasks:

  • Essential coverage including the licenses required to use the latest Oxford Nanopore software and devices.
  • Repair and update to the MinKnow software used for sequencing and running the long-read sequencer.
  • Email and chat support available 8 hours a day.
  • Repair and replacement for device malfunctions, covering the GridION unit itself.
  • Remote or on-site maintenance support provided by a Field Engineer.
  • Onboarding support for GridION; remote installation support call to ensure the device is correctly installed and ready-to-use.

RFO FAR 12.201-1 Simplified procedures will be used for awarding the contract. The anticipated award date is March 10th, 2026.

The intended source for this acquisition is Oxford Nanopore Technologies Inc., 101 Avenue of the Americas, New York, New York 10013.

Oxford Nanopore has unique qualifications for this acquisition because they are the only manufacturer and seller of the Gridion instrument. There is no other option to buy or repair these items. The need for immediate repairs is an integral part of this contract. The software for this instrument (MinKnow) is proprietary to Oxford nanopore. Updates to this software and the instrument’s ability to perform the functions of long read whole genome sequencing depend on these software updates.
