Print Bid Title: Design/Engineering for Leddy Park North Gully Stabilization & Watershed Improvements Category: Current Requests for Quotes, Proposals and Bids Status: Closed Bid Recipient: Seth Kuchenbecker Description: The City of Burlington’s Water Resources Division (the “City”) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from design, engineering firms, or consultant teams to provide engineering services and produce final designs for the Leddy Park North Gully Stabilization and Watershed Improvements project. This project addresses persistent erosion and stormwater runoff issues in the northern section of Leddy Park. The Leddy Park North Gully, a steep and incised ravine, has been destabilized by groundwater seeps and unmanaged runoff from adjacent neighborhoods. These conditions have led to severe bank erosion, active down-cutting, and significant sediment and phosphorus discharge into Lake Champlain, impacting both park health and regional water quality. This work is directly aligned with the Leddy Park Comprehensive Plan, which prioritizes erosion control and stormwater treatment as essential strategies to protect the park’s natural resources and the greater Lake Champlain ecosystem. The City seeks a consultant team with demonstrated expertise in stormwater management, gully stabilization, ecological restoration, and public infrastructure design to deliver final construction- ready design plans for this project. In response, the City has completed an existing conditions assessment and identified opportunities for implementing Stormwater Treatment Practices (STPs) in the upstream watershed that drains into the gully. The goal is to develop and implement integrated solutions that stabilize eroded banks, reduce runoff volume and velocity, improve water quality, and decrease sediment and phosphorus loads to Lake Champlain.
