Description

Temple University (“Temple”) is seeking qualified contractors to bid on work for the Mechanical-HVAC Package for the Temple University Hospital Renovations Project (“Project”) to be constructed at 3401 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
Temple intends to renovate the entire 3rd floor of the Park Ave Pavilion of approximately 22,400 square feet for a new Intensive Care Unit (“ICU”). The existing Labor and Delivery unit will be relocating to the Women and Families Campus, component 30 in 2025. This renovation includes 22 ICU private patient rooms with toilets, decentralized nurse stations, 2 soiled utility rooms, 2 clean supply rooms, a family waiting room, 2 medication rooms, a nutrition area, equipment storage rooms and alcoves, workrooms for staff, 4 staff offices, 2 on-call room suites, a large staff education room, a staff lounge, lockers, toilets, meditation and mother’s rooms, Environmental Services, Information Technologies Services and other required support spaces. Windows will be added to a portion of the west exterior wall to provide the required natural light in all patient rooms.
Temple also intends to renovate the existing Cardiac Catherization (Cath) Lab #3 of approximately 1,100 square feet for new Cardiac Cath Lab Equipment. The renovation will include expansion of the control and component rooms along with replacing all interior finishes and supporting equipment inside the Lab.
The selected Contractor, if any, will be required to institute required ICRA barriers and procedures and interim life safety measures as required during the work to provide safe conditions for all workers, staff and clients.
This Project will be subject to a Delegation Agreement between Temple, the Pennsylvania Department of General Services and the Governor’s Office of the Budget. This Project will be a multi-prime project delivered pursuant to a multi-prime contract delivery structure. The Prime Contractors will include, at a minimum: General Construction, Mechanical-HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing and Fire Protection, and each other contractor engaged directly by Temple to perform construction or supply machinery, materials, equipment or labor for construction of the Project and which are identified by Temple as being a Prime Contractor for the Project.
Mechanical-HVAC Scope
The Scope of Work for the Mechanical-HVAC Package shall include all necessary services, work, labor, material, supervision, tools, supplies, equipment, insurance, applicable taxes necessary to complete Mechanical-HVAC Package as shown in the Contract Documents for the above referenced Project. The Scope of Work for the Mechanical-HVAC Package is further specified in the Agreement, the Scope of Work (including all Schedules thereto), the Plans and Specifications, and other documents that will be uploaded to TUebid as part of the solicitation.
Release of Mechanical-HVAC Package
The Mechanical-HVAC Package is tentatively scheduled to be released for bid on or around September 10, 2025 with bids to be due on October 1, 2025.
All bidding information is released and processed through TUebid, Temple’s on-line solicitation management system.

Under no circumstances will a bid be accepted from or on behalf of an entity, such as a partnership or joint venture, that is not in existence on the date the bid is submitted, or the existence of which is contingent on a future event, such as the award of a contract pursuant to this solicitation.
