Print Bid Title: City of Fremont Administration Building Chiller Replacement Category: Bid Opportunities Status: Closed Description: General, mechanical and electrical work for the Chiller Replacement project at the City of Fremont Administration Building. Sealed Bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk in the City Building, 400 East Military Avenue, Fremont, Nebraska, until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, and be publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers at that time for the Administration Building Chiller Replacement. The bid security, the bid, and any other pertinent material, shall be sealed in an envelope marked: ADMINISTRATION BUILDING CHILLER REPLACEMENT. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or a bank draft on a solvent Nebraska bank insured by FDIC or a bid bond in the amount not less the five percent (5%) of the bid price. Bids shall be on a Lump Sum basis for Base Bid as indicated on the Bidding Documents. Anticipated award of contract and construction commencement date is January 13, 2015. The contractor shall complete the work not later than May 1, 2015. Liquidated Damages of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per working day will be assessed after the time for completion has expired. A tour of the existing building and a pre-bid conference will be held at the building on December 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Bidders are encouraged to attend the walkthrough. Any interpretation or corrections to contract documents arising from bid questions will be made by addendum only. Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at A&D Technical Supply Company, 4230 South 89th Street, Omaha, NE 68127, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders upon depositing the sum of $50.00. Any bidder upon returning the documents in good condition within seven days following award of the contract shall be returned the deposit in full. The City of Fremont hereby reserves the right to accept that bid which, in its judgment, will produce the best job of workmanship and material, whether or not it is the lowest bid; and reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any or all informalities of any proposal. The successful bidder will be required to submit an acceptable Affirmative Action Statement and Program to the Office of the Mayor within ten (10) days after the bid has been awarded by the Fremont City Council. Failure to submit an acceptable Affirmative Action Statement and Program within the time allotted shall result in the forfeiture of the bidder's bond. The contractor shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in a sum equal to one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, for a period of one (1) year past the completion of the project.
