Print Bid Title: Stone Street Reconstruction Project Category: RFPs Status: Open Description: Bids are requested for a storm drain replacement and resurfacing project on Stone Street in the City of Brewer. The limits of this project are on Stone Street from South Main Street to Elm Street. A failing section of vitrified clay lines will be replaced by 12” HDPE MaineDOT Option III dual wall pipe with a smooth interior. All existing structures will need to be connected into this new storm drain line. A doghouse manhole structure will be installed to make the connection between the new line and the existing concrete storm drain. After the storm drain replacement is complete, the remaining portions of this section of roadway will be milled and overlaid and the sidewalk will be reconstructed. All new concrete curbing will be installed as part of the reconstruction. Two different curb molds will be utilized, in various locations along the roadway, see plans for exact locations. Interested bidders may obtain bid information and specifications for the project by contacting the Brewer Engineering Department at (207) 989-8430. For consideration, the bid form provided by the Engineering Department must be sealed in an envelope, distinctly marked, “2026 Stone Street Reconstruction Project” and must be received at the Office of Jeremy Caron, Brewer Engineering Dept., 221 Green Point Road, Brewer, ME Bid Deadline: March 25, 2026 @ 10:00am. Any bids received after the date and time specified will not be allowed. All bid questions must be received by “three days prior to bid”, all questions received after that time will not be answered. Prospective contractors should note that this project must be completed before August 8, 2026. The City of Brewer reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive informalities or minor irregularities, and to accept the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
