WW08-03 AT KAHULUI, MAUI, HAWAII Pursuant to Chapter 103D, HRS, sealed bids for the following construction project: “ALAMAHA FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT, COUNTY JOB NO. WW08-03”, will be received and time-stamped by the Bid Receiver, County of Maui, Purchasing Division, Department Of Finance, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793 until 2:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time, on Thursday, November 3, 2011. Bids shall be addressed to the Bid Receiver, Purchasing Division, Department Of Finance, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, and shall be labeled “ALAMAHA FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT, COUNTY JOB NO. WW08-03”. Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud immediately thereafter. The project involves the replacement of the existing 8-inch Alamaha Force Main with approximately 1,850 Linear Feet of 8-inch, DR18 Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) C900 and Protecto 401-Lined Class 52 Ductile Iron (DI) pipes, including fittings and appurtenances; excavation and backfill; connecting the new force main to the existing 8-inch force main at the A&B Wastewater Pump Station (WWPS) and to an existing sewer manhole at the Kahului WWPS; restoring existing improvements; temporary bypass facilities at the A&B WWPS; and all other incidental work necessary to complete the project. This project is a State Revolving Fund (SRF) funded project. All projects funded with SRF federal or state-match funds must comply with all federal regulations listed as applicable “Cross-cutter” regulations which have been determined as applying to the SRF loan program. SRF LOAN INFORMATION A. Percentage (%) of the total cost of the project which will be financed with SRF money – 100%. B. Dollar amount of SRF funds for the project – $1.26 million. C. Percentage (%) and dollar amount of the total costs of the project that will be financed by non-governmental sources – None. Contract Documents and proposal forms may be obtained on or after October 3, 2011 at the office of the Director of Finance, Purchasing Division, 2145 Wells Street, Suite 104, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. Each set of Contract Documents will consist of a Compact Disc (CD) with Specifications and Drawings in electronic format (“pdf”). Bidders must be qualified in compliance with Section 103D-310 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. Bidders shall be licensed in accordance to Chapter 444, HRS, relating to the licensing of Contractors. Contractor’s license required: A The Contractor, and his subcontractor(s), if any, shall comply with all applicable revisions of the law relative to the Prevailing Wage Schedule, as required under Chapter 104, HRS. A pre-bid meeting and tour will be conducted for the project. Interested parties are to meet at the Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility Conference Room, 281 Amala Place, Kahului, Hawaii on October 18, 2011. No proposal will be considered unless accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: cash, a cashier's check, a certified check on a bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or a bidder's bond executed by an approved surety insurer, made payable to the County of Maui in the manner, form, and amount required in Section 103D-323 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes. The proposal guaranty shall be equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total of the bid submitted. Bidders must correctly prepare and submit the documents listed in Section 00300, Proposal.
