The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to negotiate a contract on a single source basis with D&D DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING INC. (D&D) for the SMR-4 System Weather Caps.
In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source using single source procedures. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source, one-time, Firm Fixed Price contract, for items listed below.
Design, article 1 and article 2 testing, and fabrication of thirty-one (31) weather caps for the new SMR-4 system as part of the Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS).
All design and testing must be completed no later than 02/20/2026.
Market Research supports the determination that D&D is the only source available to provide the design, testing, and farbircation within the required timeframe.
